What is OUAC?

The center for undergraduate applications to Canadian universities is the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre.

How does OUAC work?

By providing a single interface for easily researching programs, submitting applications, and monitoring acceptance progress, OUAC simplifies the application process. With this simplification, applicants can apply to more Ontario universities with ease, giving their journey into higher education a more user-friendly interface.

People who would like additional guidance from OUAC can reach them at (519)-823-1063.

Prospective students must fulfill certain requirements necessary for undergraduate enrollment at Ontario institutions in order to be eligible for admission through the Ontario institutions’ Application Centre in Canada. The requirements consist of:

  • Admission to Ontario High School Programs: Candidates must be actively seeking education in Ontario.
  • Regular Academic Progress: Applicants should keep up regular academic progress, with no more than seven-month gaps.
  • Completion of OSSD: Obtaining a specific grade in six 4U/M courses is a requirement for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, which must be completed or anticipated.
  • No Post-Secondary Institution Attendance: Following high school, applicants must not have attended any post-secondary educational establishments.
  • Age Requirement: At the time of application, applicants must be younger than 21.

Candidates must express their desire to pursue an undergraduate degree in order to be considered for undergraduate programs. Important Dates And Deadlines For Ontario Universities’ Applications (2023-2024)

Application, Offer, and Response Deadlines:

January 15, 2024:

This is the deadline for current Ontario high school students to submit their completed applications to the OUAC. Note that it will continue to process applications received after this date and distribute them to the Ontario universities. However, specific university deadlines will apply.

May 29, 2024:

This is the latest date by which all current Ontario high school students who submitted their application by the January deadline can expect a response from an Ontario university. This response may include an offer of admission, a refusal, or a deferral, once additional information is received.

June 3, 2024:

This is the earliest date by which a current Ontario high school student may be required to respond to an offer of admission from an Ontario university and give a financial commitment (e.g., registration deposit, residence deposit, etc.). Other admission-related elements, such as scholarships, other forms of student assistance or financial incentives, and offers of residence, are considered part of the offer of admission. Therefore, while a student may accept these other offers before June 3, 2024, Ontario universities will not compel a student in any way to make a decision before this date.
