CanSTEM Education Private School Middle School Program Overview: Your Road to Achievement
We are thrilled to announce that CanSTEM Education Private School will be launching our Middle School Program in 2023 as part of our ongoing business expansion. Our Middle School Program is designed to give more students access to a high-quality online education. It offers a complete curriculum that is customized to meet the specific needs of students in grades 7 and 8.
Middle School: What Is It?
Depending on the province, classes 6 through 9 are usually included in middle school, often referred to as junior high in some parts of Canada. The seventh and eighth grades are regarded as middle school in Ontario. alternative regions may have alternative options, though, such as attending separate middle schools for years 7 and 8, or continuing with elementary school until grade 8 before moving on to high school.
Overview of the Curriculum for Grades 7 and 8
Students learn about topographic maps, human-environment connections, and the physical characteristics of the Earth in Grade 7 geography. These ideas are expanded upon in Grade 8 Geography, which focuses on more complex map skills, patterns of human habitation, and environmental effects.
Geography
Examining the social, political, economic, and legal developments that occurred in Canada between 1713 and 1850, grade 7 history focuses on how these changes affected various populations.
The Canadian Pacific Railway, the Gold Rush, Confederation, and other subjects are covered in Grade 8 History as it explores the years 1850–1914.
History
In order to lay a solid basis for future academic achievement, CanSTEM Education Middle School Program adheres to Ontario standards and focuses on grade 7 and 8 courses.
Language
Through a variety of media, such as non-fiction, poetry, and media studies, as well as a fresh examination of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, Grade 7 Language places a strong emphasis on language and communication skills.
While studying poetry, short stories, and media studies, grade 8 language furthers the development of literary analysis skills, especially in the fantasy genre.
Mathematics
Algebra, data management, and financial literacy are some of the subjects covered in grade 7 math, which also aims to promote a good attitude toward mathematics.
Students’ understanding of mathematics is broadened in grade 8 math with topics including geometry, fractions, integers, and the Pythagorean and Root Theorem.
Science
Science in grade 7 focuses on basic chemistry topics, ecosystems, and biological systems.
In Grade 8, students study biology, physics, and chemistry with a focus on topics like fluid dynamics, human organ systems, and cells.
CanSTEM Education Private School is expanding the complete learning experience for our students by creating courses in art, health, and physical education for grades 7 and 8. These courses will be added to the core subjects.
